Outeiro is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Outeiro is part of the Cabeceiras de Basto district in the Braga district . The community had an area of 7.6 km² and 1116 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Outeiro, Painzela and Refojos de Basto were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Refojos de Basto, Outeiro e Painzela .
