Ovid Demaris
Ovid Demaris born Ovide E. Desmarais (born September 6, 1919 in Biddeford , Maine ; † March 12, 1998 ibid) was an American journalist and writer .
Life
Demaris was educated at the College of Idaho (1948), Syracuse University Law School and Boston University (1950). On May 15, 1942, he married Inez E. Frakes .
Professional background
In particular, he worked as a correspondent and reporter for the United Press before becoming a writer and also writing detective stories . He became known for his books on organized crime , especially the US Mafia : the La Cosa Nostra and wrote, for example, B. the biography of the mobster Jimmy Fratianno .
