Oxana Arkaeva

Oxana Arkaeva ( Russian Оксана Игоревна Аркаева Oxana Igorewna Arkajewa ; * in Ukraine ) is a Ukrainian opera, operetta, oratorio, lied and concert singer ( soprano ).

Life

The artist received her first musical training in her home country. After graduating from school, he studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and at the Manhattan School of Music in New York between 1989 and 1994 , followed by postgraduate studies at the Opera Studio of the Zurich Opera House . There she made her debut as Lisabetta in Umberto Giordano's La cena delle beffe, as Sa Femme in Milhaud's Le pauvre matelot and as Bubikopf in Ullmann's Der Kaiser von Atlantis . The soprano became a member of the opera ensemble at the St. Gallen City Theater in 1995 . Oxana Arkaeva sang the roles of Adina in Der Liebestrank and Eurydice in Orpheus in der Unterwelt .

From 1996 to 2001 Arkaeva was engaged at the Frankfurt Opera . During this time she expanded her role repertoire significantly. She switched from the lyric and lyrical coloratura soprano to the lirico spinto subject . At the Frankfurt Opera, Oxana Arkaeva sang Lisa in Queen of Spades , First Lady in Die Zauberflöte , Elisabetta in Don Carlos , Cio Cio San in Madame Butterfly , Frau Fluth in Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor , Tatiana in Eugene Onegin etc.

In 2003 the soprano went to the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken , where she stayed until 2008. There she sang many great roles in her field, for example Jenny in Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny , Princess Laya in The Flower of Hawaii or the Fox in The Cunning Little Fox , Freia in Das Rheingold and Jitka in Dalibor . From 2009 to 2015 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Ulm . Here she shone u. a. as Feldmarschallin in Rosenkavalier, Suor Angelica in the opera of the same name, Desdemona in Otello, Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow or as Medea in the opera of the same name.

Guest appearances have taken Oxana Arkaeva to the USA, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Graz Opera House, the Mannheim National Theater, the Hof Theater, the Bonn Opera, the Royal Copenhagen Opera, the music stages in Augsburg, Münster, Leipzig, Oberhausen and many others

Oxana Arkaeva has a broad concert repertoire. These include the soprano parts of Missa solemnis by Ludwig van Beethoven , Stabat Mater by Antonín Dvořák or the 14th Symphony by Dmitri Dmitrijewitsch Shostakowitsch , the Mass St. Cecilie by Charles Gounod , to name just a few of the many.

The artist worked with conductors such as Mark Adam , Bruno Bartoletti , James Allen Gähres , Daniel Oren , Ivan Tösz , as well as with the directors Gian Carlo Menotti , Peter Mussbach , Christoph Marthaler , Inga Levant etc.

In 2008 the artist obtained her diploma as a singing teacher at the University of Music in Saarbrücken. Since then she has been teaching voice training, interpretation and design in classical singing.
