Oceanic flora kingdom
The oceanic flora kingdom is listed alongside the six continental flora kingdoms. In the area of the world's oceans, it extends over the islands remote from the continents, especially in the Pacific . Formative elements here are species such as Cocos nucifera ( coconut palms ) and mangrove trees (e.g. Rhizophora sp.).
The island of New Guinea also belongs to it, see Flora and Vegetation of New Guinea .
