The Nara University of Education ( jap. 奈良教育大学 , Nara Kyōiku daigaku ; Engl. Nara University of Education , in short: NUE ) is a public educational college in Japan . It is located in Takabatakechō, Nara in Nara Prefecture .
history
The Nara University of Education was founded in 1949 through the merger of the two state normal schools . The two were:
- the normal school Nara ( 奈良 師範学校 , Nara shihan gakkō ) and
- the normal youth school Nara ( 奈良 青年 師範学校 , Nara his shihan gakkō , in Kashihara ).
Normal school Nara
The normal school had its origin in the normal school Nara-Shoin ( 寧 楽 書院 ), which was founded in 1874 by the older Nara prefecture. In 1876 Nara Prefecture was merged into Sakai Prefecture , and Sakai Prefecture in 1881 into Osaka Prefecture . The normal school became a branch of the Osaka Prefectural Normal School and closed in 1886.
In 1887, today's Nara Prefecture was established, and in 1888 the Nara Prefectural Normal School was rebuilt. Its campus was located next to the main building of the prefecture administration and was used until 1958 ( 34 ° 41 ′ 6.5 ″ N , 135 ° 50 ′ 3.1 ″ E ). It became a men-only school in 1905 when the Prefectural Women's Normal School was established. In 1943 the two prefectural normal schools were elevated to the state normal school in Nara.
Youth Normal School Nara
The normal youth school Nara was founded in 1921 as a training institute for teachers at advanced training schools. In 1935 it became a training institution for teachers in youth schools. In 1941 she moved to the city of Yagi (today: Kashihara, 34 ° 30 ′ 0.9 ″ N , 135 ° 47 ′ 49.3 ″ E ). In 1944 she was elevated to the state normal youth school in Nara.
Nara University of Education
The College of Education was opened in 1949 as the College of Liberal Arts Nara ( 奈良 学 芸 大学 , Nara gakugei daigaku ). It initially had three small campuses, which were combined to form the new Takabatake campus (former military base) in 1958. In 1966 the university was given its current name.
