Pößnecker musicians

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pößnecker Musikanten was a folksy Thuringian music formation, which became known through numerous concert tours and as regular guests of the TV entertainment show Oberhofer Bauernmarkt .

history

Pößnecker Musikanten was founded in 1965 in the East Thuringian town of Pößneck as an amateur group by clarinetist, saxophonist and orchestra leader Heinz Pitschmann. The ensemble played was clarinet , trumpet , accordion , double bass / tuba , guitar and drums . The arrangements were based on the Oberkrainer style of Slavko Avsenik , which was an absolute novelty in eastern Germany at the time. Various titles also contain musical elements of Dixieland , with the clarinet and accordion often used as soloists. This led to a very special timbre that has never existed before. In 1968 the singer Ellen Sander joined, her distinctive, unmistakable voice soon became the trademark of the Pößneck musicians. The first tracks were produced for radio in the GDR at the Weimar broadcaster, and the first record appeared in the early 1970s . From then on it went uphill and in a relatively short time a high level of awareness was achieved. In addition to Herbert Roth and his ensemble, the Pößneck musicians were one of the first professionally working folk music formations in the GDR. The group made particular merits by cultivating and popularizing German folk songs. Her musical style found numerous imitators in the popular music scene of the GDR . Ellen Sander later also sang in a duo with Frank Düsterdick, who can be heard for the first time on the 1986 LP. Gaby Albrecht began her musical career with the Pößnecker Musikanten and replaced Ellen Sander as singer in the late 1980s. From 1989 onwards, following the general trend, folk hits were interpreted following the general trend, which no longer bore any resemblance to the original, original way of making music. A little later the formation broke up. "Pößnecker Musikanten" has been a protected word mark since 2006, according to the website of the brand owner there was or is a duo under the name. However, nothing is known about a possible comeback with the full cast.
