Pölven

The Pölven is a mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps in the Lower Inn Valley in Tyrol . It peaks in the Großer Pölven (also Mittagskogel , 1595  m above sea level ) and in the Kleiner Pölven ( 1562  m above sea level ).

The summit can be reached via a small and easy via ferrata . In the summit area you have a view of Hohe Salve , Bad Häring , the Unterinntal , the Wilder Kaiser , the Loferer Steinberge and Söll . The mountain range is one of the lesser-known and, accordingly, little frequented mountains. Occasional flight noises interrupt the quiet, as this area is suitable as a towing target for gliders due to the good thermals. Marl and limestone are extracted in the quarries and processed in the cement industry in Kirchbichl .
