Pörndorf is a district of the municipality of Bruckberg in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut .

Pörndorf is about four kilometers north of Bruckberg in the Danube-Isar hill country .

history

Early Bronze Age graves near Pörndorf indicate the early settlement of the area. Around 1837, the pastor of Bruckberg also found numerous Roman coins here.

Pörndorf formed a small, independent domain early on. Perhaps a knight named Poren, who appears in a row of witnesses and was wealthy in the area, gave Pörndorf its name. A little west of Pörndorf, today in Upper Bavarian territory, the Battle of Gammelsdorf took place in 1313 , in which Ludwig the Bavarian defeated the Habsburg troops under Frederick the Fair .

The place formed a chairman in the Isareck office of the Moosburg district court and in 1752 consisted of twenty properties. It was not until January 30, 1822, that Pörndorf was separated from the Moosburg Regional Court and placed under the Landshut Regional Court , where it belonged to the municipality of Widdersdorf. With the municipality of Widdersdorf, Pörndorf came to the municipality of Bruckberg in the course of the regional reform on May 1, 1978. In 1987 Pörndorf had 145 inhabitants.

• Church of the Assumption. The late Gothic brick building from the end of the 15th century has a richly decorated ribbed vault.
