Edlkofen is a district of the municipality of Bruckberg (Lower Bavaria) in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut .

geography

The village is located in the Lower Isarau in the valley of the Klötzlmühlbach , today a branch of the Amper , the water power of which drives a generator in the Bartmühle by means of a turbine and in Landshut, after flowing through the city bathing area, flows into the Hammerbach and with it the Isar . It is located southwest of the main town, on both sides of State Road 2045 in the direction of Moosburg . Like the district of Bruckbergerau, Edlkofen belongs to the district of Bruckbergerau.

history

The fertile lowlands have been inhabited by humans since ancient times. About 800 m west of the town center was a three hectare settlement from the Latène period , which is protected as a soil monument. A baroque chapel has been preserved in the center of the village and is a listed building . See also: List of architectural monuments in Edlkofen

The Bavarian original cadastre shows Edlkofen in the 1810s as a scattered settlement with 35 hearths and the Portmühle .

The former district of Bruckbergerau was incorporated into Bruckberg on January 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform.

Infrastructure

The Munich – Regensburg railway has been running through the town since 1857 without stopping there.

Most of the larger companies located in the municipality of Bruckberg have their headquarters in the Edlkofen industrial park. The majority of the town is characterized by open residential buildings and, on the outskirts, by functional agricultural buildings.
