biography
The first album Of the Heart, of the Soul and of the Cross: The Utopian Experience was released in 1991. The first release A Watcher's Point of View went into the UK Top 40 , the follow-up single set Adrift on Memory Bliss , a rapped reinterpretation of the hit True von Spandau Ballet from 1983, rose to number three in the respective charts in Great Britain, the USA and Germany , number four in Switzerland and number nine in Austria . The other singles from the first album, Paper Doll and Reality Used to Be a Friend of Mine , also made it into various charts.
The second album and was entitled The Bliss Album in 1993 ...? (Vibrations of Love and Anger and the Ponderance of Life and Existence) . The singles from it, Looking Through Patient Eyes , More Than Likely (feat. Boy George ) and The Ways of the Wind , only reached middle chart positions. Only Looking Through Patient Eyes achieved a top 10 placement in the USA.
The 1995 singles Downtown Venus and Sometimes I Miss You so Much (Dedicated to the Christ Consciousness) from the album Jesus Wept were only minor hits in Great Britain and the USA. Gotta Be… Movin 'On Up , a feature with Ky-Mani Marley , and I Had No Right were the last PM Dawn singles to hit the charts in 1998.
After Attrell Cordes suffered a stroke in 2005 and Jarrett Cordes decided to leave the group, the project was led by musician Dr. Giggles alias Doc G, the cousin of the two founders. Attrell Cordes died on June 17, 2016 at the age of 46.
