The PCP.COM group was originally founded as a sole proprietorship under the name PC Power Weber Informatik (hence PCP) and on June 2, 1998 it was transferred to PCP.CH Weber Informatik . The company operates under PCP.CH one of the longest-running online shops for computers and entertainment electronics in Switzerland. On June 14, 2004 the company was converted into a public limited company. In 2005, the subsidiary ComStern.de GmbH was founded in Gottmadingen , which operates an online shop in Germany under the same name. The online shop PC-Ostschweiz.ch , founded in Altnau in 2003 , was taken over by the company in 2009. In 2010 the subsidiary ComStern.at GmbH was founded in Lustenau , which operates an online shop in Austria under the same name. The PC assembler Beck PC , founded in Widnau in 2005, was acquired by the company in 2012, the computer and electronics retailer STEG Electronics , founded in Lucerne in 1994, was acquired in 2014 and the Techmania online shop, founded in Gossau ZH in 2008 , was taken over in 2017.
