PNL (short for Peace and loves , French slang for "peace and money") is a French hip-hop - Duo .

Band history

The two brothers Ademo and NOS (Tarik and Nabil Andrieu) grew up in the Les Tarterêts district in Corbeil-Essonnes . The brothers have roots in Algeria and Corsica. The duo was founded in 2014. Her debut album Que La Famille (Nur die Familie) was released in March 2015 . The album went largely unnoticed, but secured them a contract with the QLF Records label. The video clip for the song Le Monde ou Rien was released a little later , filmed in the Neapolitan district of Scampia and in her hometown. The video went viral and reached more than ten million users on YouTube . Towards the end of the year her album Le Monde Chico was released , which went straight to number 2 in the French charts and was awarded a gold record .

In 2016 her third album, Dans la légende , was released, which reached number 1 in the French, Belgian ( Walloon ) and Swiss charts.

Music genre

PNL use what is known as cloud rape , which means that flat, cloud-like synths are used. The beats were not created for the band, but were collected from the Internet. There are also influences from the trap . The band uses autotune as an instrument, which gives the two voices a distorted, high-pitched sound that is also extremely elongated. The lyrics are sad, melancholy and depressed. In doing so, they make use of gangster romance and merge image and sound into an inseparable unit. Musically, French rap in the style of Booba or British acts like Massive Attack were the inspiration. PNL are mysterious, so the two brothers do not reveal any interviews and otherwise little about their private lives.
