Lists on the subject |
The PSM ( Russian ПСМ: Пистолет самозарядный малогабаритный , Pistolet samosarjadnij malogabaritnij , in German: small self-loading pistol ) is a Russian pocket pistol.
history
The weapon was created in the late 1970s and was intended for non-military purposes. The specifications called for a light, compact and as flat as possible pistol that should be easily concealed and portable. It was issued to members of the Interior Ministry and the secret services as a self-defense weapon. Many lavishly engraved copies appeared as a representative award for higher officer ranks in the Russian army or deserved functionaries of the CPSU .
technology
The PSM is a recoil loader with a fixed barrel and a simple ground lock. The handle of the weapon is made of light metal, the rest is made of steel. The trigger works on the double-action / single-action principle . The combined safety and release lever is on the left of the slide ; the safety acts on the bolt and the firing pin.
After the last cartridge has been fired, the slide catch holds the slide in its rear position. The slide catch is unlocked by pulling the slide slightly backwards. The general structure is similar to that of the Makarow PM , the dismantling of the weapon is carried out as with this one by pulling the trigger guard.
The PSM is very precise, its small-caliber projectiles reach a muzzle velocity (v 0 ) of 315 m / s and can penetrate bullet-resistant vests with up to 55 layers of Kevlar at a short distance . The man-stopping effect of the 5.45 × 18 mm projectiles is said to be insufficient.
Legal
Due to its caliber, this weapon has not been allowed in private ownership in Germany ( Section 2, Paragraph 3 in conjunction with Annex 2, Section 1, No. 1.2.5 WaffG ) since April 1, 2008.
