Pablo Angeles David (born August 17, 1889 in Bacolor , Pampanga , † May 16, 1965 in Quezon City ) was a Filipino politician .

Life

After completing Don Modesto Joaquin's private school in 1901, David began an undergraduate degree at the Liceo de Manila , which he completed in 1906 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA). He completed a subsequent postgraduate study of law at the Escuela de Derecho in 1910 with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). After completing his bar exam, he was admitted to the Philippines on October 12, 1910 at the age of just 21 as the youngest attorney at the time .

After he became justice of the peace of Bacolor, Santa Rita and Sasmuan in 1912 and deputy head of the tax authority of the Pampanga Province in 1913 , he was elected a member of the Provincial Board in 1916 and was a member of this until 1919. After Honorio Ventura became Minister of the Interior in 1916, he temporarily took over the post of governor of Pampanga. In the meantime, in 1918, he was also chairman of the provincial registry office.

In 1919 David was elected a member of the House of Representatives and represented the constituency of Pampanga I (First District of Pampanga) for a legislative period until 1922 . In 1931 he was elected governor of Pampangas to succeed Eligio G. Lagman and was re-elected in 1934. He held the office of governor until 1937.

After liberation from the Japanese occupation forces, after the end of the Second World War, he became involved in the fight against the Marxist anti-Japanese resistance movement Hukbalahap in Pampanga.

In November 1947, David was elected Senator . He was a member of the Senate for a six-year term until 1953.
