Sasmuan , Tagalog : Bayan ng Sasmuan , is a Filipino municipality in the province of Pampanga , in the administrative region III, Central Luzon . According to the 2015 census, Sasmuan had 28,004 residents who lived in 12 barangays . It is classified as a fourth income class community in the Philippines and as partially urbanized .
Sasmuan's neighboring communities are Guagua in the north, Minalin in the northeast, Macabebe in the east, Lubao in the west. The topography of the city is characterized by the flatlands of the central Luzon lowlands. In the south of the community there are larger mangrove forests on the coast of Manila Bay .
