Pablo Antonio Vega Mantilla (born August 17, 1919 in Nagarote , León department , Nicaragua , † November 14, 2007 ) was Bishop of Juigalpa in the Chontales department of Nicaragua.

Life

Vega Mantilla received on 26 May 1945, the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1970 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed prelate of the Juigalpa Territorial Prelature . In 1973 he was appointed titular bishop of Bononia . The episcopal ordination on May 6, 1973 received his Cardinal Lorenzo Antonetti and the co-consecrators Archbishop Luis Chávez y González and Archbishop Román Arrieta Villalobos .

From 1993 to 1995 he was chairman of the Nicaraguan Bishops' Conference .

In 1993 Pope John Paul II granted his resignation. His successor was the German Bernhard Hombach , later Archbishop of Granada in Nicaragua.
