Von Paczensky and Tenczin is the name of an old Upper Silesian noble family .

history

The family first appeared in a document in 1316 with Prosho de Pacyna , notary of Duke Wladislaus II. Von Beuthen - Cosel . The secure line of tribe begins with the brothers Jan the Elder (* around 1500) and Nikolaus (* around 1510) von Paczyna. On July 28, 1692, Albert Leopold Paczensky and his cousins Adam Wenzel and Georg Friedrich received recognition of their tribal affinity with the extinct Counts of Tenczin and, at the same time, the dignity of imperial counts with the permission of Tenczin to call themselves.

The family coat of arms shows in red an upright gold-emblazoned silver battle ax with a right -facing edge. On the helmet with the red and silver covers, the hatchet lies diagonally to the right.

The coat of arms and family belong to the Topór tribe of the Polish Szlachta .
