Good pada

The Pada estate has been in use since 1505. In the second half of the 18th century it belonged to the Russian diplomat Otto Magnus von Stackelberg (1736–1800). It later became the property of the Manteuffel family . Manteuffel's daughter married Moritz von Kotzebue , a son of the playwright August von Kotzebue . The last owner before the expropriation in the course of the Estonian land reform in 1919 was Alfred Otto von Schilling .

The representative mansion of Pada was completed in 1782 in the style of early classicism . The plans came from the architect Jean-Baptiste Michel Vallin de la Mothe (1729-1800), who had lived in Russia since 1759 . He was a student of Jacques-François Blondels . The two and a half story building with its three risalits and numerous stucco ornaments was surrounded by a large park. Since 1917 the building has been in ruins after a fire.
