Padina ( Bulgarian Падина ) is a village in the municipality of Devnja in Varna Oblast in northeastern Bulgaria .

The village is located 30 km west of Varna , eight kilometers south of the city of Dewnja and has 328 inhabitants. Agriculture and self-sufficiency are practiced in the village. An illustrated book describing modern village life has been published about the village. An open pit salt mine , in which rock salt was extracted for centuries , was closed years ago. Some hills of the pre-Balkans run through the village.

The old name of the village was Kopustschij ( Bulgarian Копусчий ) or Kupuchtschii ( Bulgarian Купухчии ) until August 14, 1934 .

As in many Bulgarian villages, the population of the village has decreased, in 1985 the village still had 543 inhabitants.
