The forecourt is a two-sided encompassing, spacious gravel and grass courtyard that was used as a beer garden . Plates are laid out under the roof overhang .

history

The Padinger Alm was first mentioned in 1555 as "Pattinguet", in 1666 it was called "Pättingalm". At least from the middle of the 19th century, there was a hut on the mountain pasture, which from 1884 supplied goat's whey to the spa in the town of Reichenhall.

In 1967 a restaurant with a tenant apartment on the Padinger Alm was approved, the restaurant was operated with short interruptions until 2014.

In March 2017, the then owner submitted an application for rededication as a residential building. At that time, the topic was removed from the agenda of the Reichenhall Building Committee without giving reasons. In July 2019, the application and a preliminary construction request were unanimously rejected. Even if the owner had promised the preservation of the building, the city administration and the building committee advocated that the Padinger Alm must continue to be used as an “Almgasthof”. The arguments mentioned were that the Padinger Alm was always used as a restaurant or alpine hut and that public interests would be impaired by its use as a residential building, in particular because year-round outdoor use - unlike the use as an alpine inn in the summer months - could lead to a split settlement.
