St. George Church

Nonn (formerly also: Nana , Nane and Nan ) is a district of Bad Reichenhall in the Berchtesgadener Land district .

The village of Nonn is mentioned as "Nana" in the Notitia Arnonis as early as the 8th century . Already at this time the church was built as a wooden structure and in 1144 it was subordinated to the Augustinian Canons of St. Zeno. According to the municipal edict of 1818, it belonged to the former municipality of Karlstein and was incorporated into the city of Bad Reichenhall with Karlstein on May 1, 1978 as part of the municipal reform. Nonn extends on the southern slope of the Hochstaufen and is divided into Nonner Unterland 474 m (eastern part) and Oberland 584 - 640 m Listsee (western part).

An important part of local customs is the Perchtenlauf on January 5th, the last Rauhnacht.

In Nonn there is the church of St. Georg ( Nonner Kircherl ), with a wonderful altar from the workshop of the Laufen master Gordian Guckh .

The economy is characterized by tourism (catering and rental) and agriculture.
