The youngest and highest district of Bad Reichenhall only includes the two parcels 903/2 and 903/5 of the Bad Reichenhall district with a mountain station and an attached hotel and restaurant of the Predigtstuhlbahn . As part of the renovation of the Predigtstuhlbahn hotel, which had not been used for a longer period of time , the previous septic tank was also to be closed and the mountain station with hotel and restaurant as well as the mountain restaurant in Schlegelmulde connected to the public sewer system . The creation of the new district was also driven by the co-owner of the operating company, the entrepreneur Max Aicher , because new channels to be created are only eligible if they are located within a district or if they open up an independent district.

The first application of July 29, 2014 to the district office of Berchtesgadener Land for a district dedication of the site was refused on September 18, 2014, as a district requires, among other things, that at least one resident is registered. It was pointed out, however, that a farm manager registered with his place of residence would already meet this requirement. A later application for a district dedication was granted, and after the district office had given its name by decision of December 15, 2014, this was officially announced in the Bavarian State Gazette on January 2, 2015. There is no place-name sign and only the address of the Talstadtion at Südtiroler Platz 1 is used as the address.

The restaurant is back in operation, but the hotel was still closed when the canal went into operation on September 6, 2017. Of the approximately two million euros in construction costs for the canal, the operators received public funding of 800,000 euros.
