Paed Conca

Paed Conca is a Swiss jazz clarinet player, bassist and composer.

Conca, who lives in Bern, is active in numerous bands and projects. Since the early 1990s he has been working with the Blast4tet (with Dirk Bruinsma , Frank Crijns and Fabrizio Spera ), with whom he has recorded several albums. Praed is a duo with the Lebanese Raed Yassin , other duo formations by Conca are So nicht with Dani Lieder and Otholiten with Dirk Bruinsma.

With the DJ Kev the Head and Bruinsma he founded the Trio Lithe Head , with Bruno Meillier and Dominique Lentin the Trio Best Before . As a soloist, Conca also appears under the name Cleee ; under this name he founded the Cleee Septet with Martin Schütz , Patricia Wydmer , Madleine Bischof , Margrit Rieben , Thomas KJ Meier and Dirk Bruinsma.

In 2004 he appeared in a trio with clarinetist and saxophonist Hans Koch and bassist John Edwards . When Irtijal Festival of Experimental Music in Beirut which was Al Maslakh ensemble founded in the Conca next Mazen Kerbaj , Christine Sehnaoui , Sharif Sehnaoui , Raed Yassin and Michael Zerang plays.

Conca also composed and played music for silent films such as The Man with the Camera (1929) by Dziga Vertov , Nosferatu (1922) by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau and The Mother (1926) by Vsevolod Pudowkin . Migration was created in 2005 in collaboration with filmmaker Giorgio Andreoli . Andreoli and Conca put together film and image material on the subject of migration in a collage, Conca composed the music, which he played together with Michael Thieke , Frank Crijns and Fabrizio Spera.
