Fabrizio Spera

Fabrizio Spera (* around 1960) is an Italian jazz drummer and improvisation musician .

Spera lives in Rome and has been a professional musician since the late 1980s. He has performed at various international festivals such as Controindicazioni in Rome, London Musician's Collective , Musique Actuelle in Victoriaville, the Jazzhaus Festival in Cologne, Alternativa in Prague, and the Total Music Meeting in Berlin and has worked with musicians such as Peter Kowald , Jon Rose , Dagmar Krause , Tom Cora , Conrad Bauer , Tristan Honsinger , Phil Minton , Barre Phillips and Wolfgang Fuchs together. He is also active in the field of radio play and theater music.

Spera is a member of several formations: with Elio Martusciello and Luca Venitucci he forms the group Ossatura , with Dirk Bruinsma , Frank Crjins and Paed Conca the Blast4tet . With Sabina Meyer , Lauro Rossi and Fabrizio Puglisi he performs as a group Viktoria Frey songs by Hanns Eisler . With Wolfgang Fuchs and Thomas Lehn he toured Germany in 2000 as Trio Lingua , with Alberto Braida and Lisle Ellis in 2004 as Trio Di Terra . He forms another trio formation with John Butcher and John Edwards , which expanded to form the Weightless quartet with pianist Alberto Braida . In 2008 he toured Europe (and 2011 in Canada ) with Alfred Harths 7k Oaks (with Massimo Pupillo ( Zu ) and Luca Venitucci ).
