Luca Venitucci

Luca Venitucci (* 1969 in Rome ) is an Italian multi-instrumentalist and singer who is active in the field of improvisational music and new music .

Venitucci studied at the Scola Popolare di Musica di Testaccio in Rome. In addition to various keyboard instruments and accordion , he plays electro-acoustic instruments, works with mixing consoles and electronically processed object sounds and his own voice.

Since the late 1980s he has worked with musicians such as Otomo Yoshihide , Thomas Lehn , Axel Dörner , Tim Hodgkinson , John Butcher , Mario Schiano , Alessandro Bosetti , Michael Renkel and Alexander Caric . He performed with the German bassist Peter Kowald , the Italian percussionist Fabrizio Spera and the English guitarist Mike Cooper , the live electronics technician Thomas Lehn, the guitarist Hans Reichel , the singer Dagmar Krause and the Japanese Masami Akita .

In 1995 he founded the electroacoustic improvisation ensemble Ossatura with Fabrizio Spera, Elio Martusciello and Maurizio Martusciello . Between 1996 and 2002 he was a member of the Berlin experimental ensemble Zeitkratzer , with which he performed and recorded works by John Cage , Philip Glass , Karlheinz Stockhausen , La Monte Young and James Tenney . In 2001 he performed a transcription of Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music for instrumental ensemble with Zeitkratzer and Ulrich Krieger .

Venitucci has worked on projects by experimental musicians such as Butch Morris , Carsten Nicolai , Keith Rowe , Masami Akita , Mario Bertoncini , Phill Niblock , Radu Malfatti , Thierry Thaemelitz and Lee Ranaldo and worked with actress Federica Santoro , the Travirovesce Dance Company , the writers Jonathan Coe and Vito Riviello , the poet Lidia Riviello and the dancer Alessandra Cristiani together. He is also a member of the multimedia project Arturo , the improvisation orchestra Fanfararara by Tim Hodgkinson , the group Unununium by Michael Thieke and the improvisation orchestra Mondo Ra . Since 2007 he has also played in Alfred Harth's quartet 7k Oaks .
