Elio Martusciello
Elio Martusciello (* 1959 in Naples ) is an Italian improvisation musician, composer and multimedia artist .
Life
The musical autodidact Martusciello worked as an improvisation musician a. a. with Eugene Chadbourne , Alvin Curran , Michel Doneda , Wolfgang Fuchs , Thomas Lehn , Jean-Marc Montera , Jérôme Noetinger , Richard Nunns, Tony Oxley , Evan Parker , Michael Thieke and Z'EV together. He belongs to the improvisation groups Ossatura (with Fabrizio Spera and Luca Venitucci ) and Taxonomy (with Graziano Lella and Roberto Fega) and works in a duo with Mike Cooper ( Schismophonia ) and Tim Hodgkinson ( Le Pecore di Dante ) as well as the electroacoustic Bindou Ensemble (with Ana-Maria Avram , Chris Cutler , Rhodri Davies , Iancu Dumitrescu and Tim Hodgkinson).
He is a founding member of IXEM (Italian eXperimental Electronic Music) and founded the experimental Bowindo label with Giuseppe Ielasi, Domenico Sciajno, Alessandro Bosetti , Valerio Tricoli and Renato Rinaldi. Since 2002 he has been involved in the multimedia and life projects la locandaccia and Arturo . In 2005 his solo album Unoccupied Areas was released .
He has performed at festivals across Europe, South America and Korea. In 1993 he was composer in residence at the French Center National de Création Musicale , where the composition was composed non-nato . On behalf of RAI , Voices from Audiobox was written in 1998 , and further commissions followed. In 2000 Martusciello was composer in residence at Césaré (Studio de création musicale) and the Institut international de musique électroacoustique de Bourges (IMEB). For his compositions he has received several awards at the Grands Prix Internationaux de Musique Electroacoustique , the Luigi Russolo Competition and the CIMESP in São Paolo.
Martusciello teaches electronic music, electroacoustic and multimedia composition at the Conservatory of Naples.
