Painhofen is a district of the municipality of Greifenberg in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .

geography

The hamlet of Painhofen is located about two kilometers northeast of Greifenberg in a moraine landscape .

history

Painhofen is first mentioned in 1420 as Painhoven , the place name is derived from the personal name Peio .

In 1752 two properties are mentioned. They each belonged to ⅜ of the Hofmark Greifenberg.
