Paint the Town Red was a German hardcore punk band from Munich .
history
Paint the Town Red was founded in November 2001. The band released three records on Join the Team Player Records and completed five European tours, including with Converge , Champion , Bridge to Solace, Awoken, Solid Ground and Cataract .
On September 10, 2005, the band played their farewell concert in Munich, after they officially broke up in April 2005. Members play today on Heartbreak Kid, Within Walls, Deathspirit and The Blackout Argument .
The members of the group saw themselves - at least in part - as strongly (left) politically influenced and expressed this, for example, in the lyrics of the band.
style
The style of the band is based heavily on the sound of more metallic NYHC bands like Madball as well as on the so-called new school hardcore sound.

Individual evidence
- ↑ “Well, I've always had a strong connection to politics. When I was 16 I went to the first demos, like against the World Economic Summit in Munich (mostly alone because I had no contact with organized people at the time), tried to get involved because a lot of things bothered me even as a teenager. The whole thing then went from Amnesty International to the vegan movement at the time, to organized anti-fascist and trade union politics. ”- trust-zine.de , February 18, 2007.
