Palais Kellersberg
The Palais Kellersberg or Kellersberg'sches Stadthaus (also with the spelling Kellersperg ) is a former Graz city palace in Sackstrasse at number 14 in the Inner City district .
History and design
The Palais Kellersberg was built around 1728 after merging two town houses in Sackstrasse . The building core dates from the 15th and 16th centuries. Around 1910 the Guttempler reform food house was housed in the premises .
Overhanging arches on corbels can be seen on the elongated facade, which were uncovered in 1963. The foliage and bandwork ornament dates from 1740/45. The two round arch stone portals each have a mascaron keystone. The entrance to the right portal was adapted as a business premises. Three-storey arcades are attached to the eastern wing of the courtyard, but they are walled up on the ground floor. The pawlats come from the second quarter of the 18th century. The first floor is reached from the vaulted ground floor via a staircase from the 15th century.
Particularly worth seeing are the carved overhangs from the 18th century and the late Gothic ridge vaults on polygonal wall pillars, an Empire tiled stove (1810/15) and some stucco ceilings on the first floor. The second floor is also decorated with stucco and foliage. There is also a wrought-iron rocaille skylight grille from the third quarter of the 18th century.
