The Pambak Mountains ( Armenian Փամբակի լեռնաշղթա , Pambaki lernaschghta; Russian Памбакский хребет , Pambakski chrebet ) is a mountain range in Armenia .
The Pambak Mountains are part of the Armenian Highlands . It extends between the city of Gyumri (formerly Leninakan ) in the northwest to the northwest shore of Lake Sevan in the east. It forms the watershed between the river systems of the Kura ( Pambak , Aghstafa ) in the north and the Aras ( Achurjan , Kassagh , Hrasdan ) in the south. The rivers Aghstafa, Pambak and Marmarik have their source on the slopes of the Pambak Mountains. In the Tesch (also Teschler ) it reaches a maximum height of 3101 m .
The mountains consist of igneous rock . The slopes are covered by mountain steppes and mountain heather. Deciduous deciduous forest grows on the northern slopes in the eastern part of the mountains .
