Panagia tou Moutoulla

Panagia tou Moutoulla ( Greek Παναγία του Μουτουλλά ) is a church building of the Cypriot Orthodox Church in Cyprus . The church was in 1985 by the UNESCO as part of the World Heritage Site Painted Churches in the area of Troodos in the World Heritage UNESCO added.

The church is one of the barn roof churches in the Troodos Mountains and is located in the mountain village of Moutoullas . It is dedicated to Mary, the mother of Jesus , as an all saint and contains wall paintings from 1280, which are badly damaged.

In the "Raising of Lazarus " on the west wall, Jesus commands Lazarus to come out of the grave according to the Gospel of John ( John 11  EU ). A young man holds the end of a linen bandage wrapped in Lazarus with one hand and a cloth over his nose with the other. Lazarus' sisters Maria and Martha kneel in pleading before Jesus.
