Panamericana is a Swiss documentary film by Severin Frei and Jonas Frei from 2010. It was released in theaters in Switzerland on September 9, 2010 by MovieBiz Films and in Germany on October 30, 2014 by One Filmverleih.

It must not be confused with the film Panamericana - Dream Road of the World by Hans Domnick .

content

The Panamericana is a road that connects two continents and twelve countries. On the 13,000 km of the original historical route between Laredo (Mexico) and Buenos Aires (Argentina), you meet people with their fates, destinies, life plans and hopes. The longest road in the world bores like a needle from north to south. The stirring, high-contrast and informative documentary shows intimate and moving moments - very authentic, natural, close and moving. He takes the viewer on a journey through different cultures, where their own existence often only depends on a few cents. The film illustrates the mindset of the Latin American population, which can often sum up the unvarnished reality in a single sentence. He neither shows staged scenes, nor does he chase after tourist attractions.

criticism

OutNow's conclusion: Panamericana is fundamentally very interesting and can definitely be judged as successful. With explanatory words, the whole thing would have been even better. This leaves beautiful impressions, wonderful music and great pictures. But that's more than enough.
