1975 Pan American Games / Football

For the seventh time, a football tournament was held at Pan-American Games in 1975 . It took place in four Mexican cities, Mexico City , Guadalajara , Toluca and Puebla, between October 13th and 25th, 1975. Thirteen teams took part. First there were two rounds of group games in the league system, then there were knockout games. Mexico and Brazil shared the success. The Brazilian Cláudio Adalberto Adão was the top scorer with 10 goals. The future star striker of Real Madrid , Hugo Sánchez , took part in the tournament as a 17-year-old and scored seven goals.
