Luis Mariano Montemayor (born March 16, 1956 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Luis Mariano Montemayor received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires on November 15, 1985 from the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Cardinal Juan Carlos Aramburu .

On June 19, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Illici and ordered him to apostolic nuncio in Senegal and Cape Verde , as well as the apostolic delegate in Mauritania . He was ordained bishop on August 6th of the same year by the Secretary for Relations with States in the Vatican State Secretariat , Archbishop Curia, Dominique Mamberti ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of San Rafael , Eduardo Maria Taussig , and the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Bergoglio SJ . On September 17, 2008 Luis Mariano Montemayor also became Apostolic Nuncio in Guinea-Bissau .

Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio to the Democratic Republic of the Congo on June 22, 2015 . On September 27, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia .
