Panikk is a Slovenian thrash metal band from Ljubljana that was founded in 2008.
history
The band was formed in 2008. The following year a first self-titled demo was released , before appearances all over Slovenia followed. In 2013, the Slovenian label Metal Tank Records released their debut album Unbearable Conditions . The next year Črt Valentić was added as the new drummer, after which the line-up next to him consisted of singer and guitarist Gašper "Gapa" Flere, guitarist Nejc Nardin and bassist Rok Vrčkovnik. In the same year the group signed a contract with Xtreem Music . The new line-up changed again in September 2015 when Jaka Črešnar replaced the guitarist Nardin. In the same year the EP Pass the Time was released. Xtreem Music plans to release a second album in 2016. At this label, the debut album was re-released in 2014 with a bonus song.
style
Luxi Lahtinen of voicesfromthedarkside.de wrote in its review of Unbearable Conditions that then thrash metal in the style of the San Francisco Bay Area is heard and thus with the music of Forbidden , Death Angel , Heathen , Exodus , and especially Vio-lence was comparable . The songs are aggressive, riff- oriented and fast and make use of gang shouts. Alfonso Perez, also from voicesfromthedarkside.de , also reviewed the re-release of the album. He described the music as retro thrash metal and a more aggressive version of early Forbidden. Above all, the vocals are reminiscent of Forbidden frontman Russ Anderson. In addition, influences from Death Angel, Atrophy , Mordred , Artillery and Assassin can be heard.
