The armored brigade 150 (also known as 150th SS Panzer Brigade called) was during the Second World War a passing armored combat unit of the Wehrmacht . The brigade was one of the few units of the Wehrmacht in which Wehrmacht and Waffen SS members were deployed in a joint organizational task force.

history

The Panzer Brigade 150 was set up in early November 1944. The unit was intended for special tasks of the OKW in the planned Ardennes offensive. The unit consisted of volunteers and members of various special units of the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS. The tasks for the brigade were long-range reconnaissance and diversion missions in the enemy hinterland in the Ardennes (e.g. conquering and securing US fuel depots). For this reason, the unit also had American captured tanks, English-speaking soldiers and captured American uniforms. The brigade was used during the Battle of the Bulge and suffered heavy losses. After the Ardennes offensive was stopped, the brigade was disbanded on December 25, 1944.
