Karin Kutz

Karin Kutz (born January 30, 1961 in Kiel ) is a former German judoka who won two bronze medals at world championships and seven bronze medals at European championships.

Karin Kutz took second place eight times and third place four times at German championships from 1979 to 1995, winning the title in 1983, 1985, 1991 and 1994. Until 1984 she fought mostly in the light heavyweight division, after which she competed in the heavyweight division or in the open class. In 1985 and 1988 she was German team champion with PSV Braunschweig .

Her first international medal was bronze in the open class at the 1984 European Championships . In 1985 she lost to the British Theresa Hayden in the battle for bronze . In 1986 she won bronze again in the open class. At the 1986 World Championships she was defeated by Belgian Ingrid Berghmans in the semifinals , but won bronze. By 1986 Kutz had won all international medals in the open class, at the European Championships in 1987 she won bronze in the heavyweight division. Half a year later she won bronze in the open class at the World Championships in Essen . In 1988 Karin Kutz won the Tournoi de Paris . At the European Championships in 1988 she won bronze in the heavyweight division. In 1991 , 1992 and 1993 she received three more European championship bronze in the open class.
