The armored brigade 105 was during the Second World War, an armored task force of the Wehrmacht .

history

Panzerbrigade 105 was set up from July 24, 1944. The background to the formation was an order from the OKH on July 18, 1944 to re-establish 10 tank brigades. The training took place from the Mielau military training area in East Prussia . On September 1, 1944, the unit was relocated to Belgium . Here the brigade got into heavy fighting against Western Allied troops and slowly withdrew towards the Siegfried Line. By the end of September 1944, the brigade had lost 62% of its soldiers in combat. In October 1944 the unit was disbanded and its sub-units were used to refresh the 9th Panzer Division .
