The Papitashvili Valley is a high valley in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It lies between the Wendler Spur and the Besson Spur in the Apocalypse Peaks . To the north it opens to the Barwick Valley across from Hourglass Lake . The valley is ice-free apart from a glacier at the head end.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2005 after Vladimir O. Papitashvili (* 1946) from the Research Laboratory for Space Physics at the University of Michigan , who was involved in a US-Russian research program for the collection of magnetometric data on the Mirny from 1994 to 1999 . Station was active.
