The Para at Krasnoye

The Para ( Russian Пара ) is a 192 km long right tributary of the Oka in the European part of Russia .

The Para rises a few kilometers south of the border to Ryazan in the Oblast Tambov and flows from there, first to the north. Shortly before the confluence of the Werda , it turns north-west.

At Krasnoye it turns again in mainly northward direction and flows curvy through the agriculturally intensively used Oka-Don plain . A little north of Schilowo the river finally flows into the Oka.

The Para is frozen on average from November to April.
