Paracas is a small town on the Pacific coast of Peru . In the 2017 census, the population was 2841. Paracas is the administrative seat of the district of the same name in the province of Pisco in the Ica region . Paracas is located 15 km south of the city of Pisco and almost 220 km south-southeast of the state capital Lima .

The “ Paracas Candelabra ” floor painting was discovered on a nearby peninsula, dating from around 200 BC. BC originated. The Paracas National Reserve is located south of Paracas .
