The Pisco Province is one of five provinces in the Ica region on the Pacific coast of Peru . The Inca Province of Tambo Colorado was located here around 1450 . The province has an area of 3978.2 km². At the 2017 census, 150,744 people lived in the province. Ten years earlier, the population was 125,879. The administrative seat is the city of Pisco .
Geographical location
The province of Pisco borders in the north with the provinces Chincha and Castrovirreyna (Huancavelica), in the east with the province Huaytará (Huancavelica), in the south with the province Ica and in the west with the Pacific Ocean .
Administrative division
The province of Pisco is divided into the following eight districts (distritos) . The district of Pisco is the seat of the provincial administration.
