The Túpac Amaru Inca district is located in the Pisco province of the Ica region in southwest Peru . The district founded on June 6, 1986 has an area of ​​55.4 km². At the 2017 census, there were 17,775 residents in the district. In 1993 the population was 9542, in 2007 14,676. The district administration is located in the 70  m high town of Túpac Amaru Inca with 17,664 inhabitants (as of 2017). Túpac Amaru Inca is located 5 km east of the provincial capital Pisco .

Geographical location

The Túpac Amaru Inca district is located in the central northwest of the Pisco province. The district is located in the coastal desert of southern Peru. The course of the Río Pisco forms the northern boundary of the district. The national road 1S ( Panamericana ) runs along the western district border . Irrigated agriculture is practiced in the northwest of the district. The settlement area is limited to the far west of the district. In the rest of the district there is desert vegetation.

The Tupac Amaru Inca District is bordered to the northwest on the district Pisco , on the north by the district of San Clemente , on the east by the district Humay and in the south and southwest of the district of San Andrés .
