Río Pisco near San Clemente

The district of San Clemente is located in the Pisco province of the Ica region in southwest Peru . The district founded on June 8, 1985 has an area of ​​127.22 km². At the 2017 census, there were 24,814 residents in the district. In 1993 the population was 14,202, in 2007 19,324. The district administration is located in the 67  m high city of San Clemente with 24,207 inhabitants (as of 2017). San Clemente is 6 km northeast of the provincial capital Pisco .

Geographical location

The district of San Clemente is located on the Pacific coast in the northwest of the province of Pisco. The district has an approximately 10.5 km long coastline. The district extends over the arid coastal plain. The course of the Río Pisco forms the southern boundary of the district.

The district of San Clemente borders in the north with the district El Carmen ( province Chincha ), in the east with the district Independencia and in the south with the districts Humay , Túpac Amaru Inca and Pisco .
