The Parco regional dei Colli Euganei (German Regional Park of the Euganean Hills ) is one of the five regional parks in Italy designated in the Veneto region ; The aim and purpose of an Italian regional park is roughly the same as that of a German nature park . It is located in the province of Padua .

The park was established by Regional Law No. 38 on October 10, 1989 and includes 15 municipalities.

administration

The park has its administrative headquarters in Este . At the head of the administration are the President and the Director. The seven members of the Executive Committee (the President himself is one of them) are each responsible for a specific area (the President for organization, budget and personnel planning, the rest for agriculture and forestry, construction, culture and tourism, nature and Environmental protection, city and area planning as well as regional promotion and development). The park administration also includes local and regional representatives, namely one for each municipality (a total of 15) and three representatives each for the province of Padua and the Veneto region, as well as a six-member technical and scientific committee.

Objectives of the regional park administration / projects

The dedicated goal of the regional park administration is the preservation of nature and cultural assets on the one hand and the promotion of environmentally friendly, sustainable agriculture and gentle tourism within the area on the other. • Protection of the forest, flora and fauna: catalog of measures to prevent the risk of forest fires, setting up biotopes, recording animal populations, issuing information materials, scientific studies on the bird species found in the park,
  • Area planning, promotion of environmentally friendly construction,
  • Initiative for the cultivation of medicinal and useful plants
