The Parechu (also Pare Chu ) is a left tributary of the Spiti in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh and Union Territory of Ladakh and in the autonomous region of Tibet (People's Republic of China).

The Parechu arises at the mouth of the Parung Glacier in the north of Spiti . The river is fed by several glaciers. It initially flows in a north-easterly direction to Ladakh and on to Tibet. There it cuts through the mountain ridges of the Western Himalayas and turns again to the south and south-west. The Parechu crosses the border back to India about 10 km from its mouth. It finally joins the Spiti after a total of 150 km at Sumdo .

In the summer of 2004, the Parechu dammed up 35 km above the Indian border due to a landslide to form a 230 hectare lake. The following summer the river eroded the natural dam again. There were no major floods in the downstream areas.
