Park Chong-pal

Park Chong-Pal (* 11. August 1969 in Seoul , South Korea ) is a former South Korean boxers in the super middleweight and both linear and WBA - and WBC world champion.

Career

On July 22, 1984, he took in a 15 round fight against Murray Sutherland by knockout in the eleventh round from the IBF world champion belt. He defended this title eight times in a row, against Roy Gumbs, Vinnie Curto (twice), Lindell Holmes (twice), Marvin Mack, Doug Sam and Emmanuel Otti.

In December 1987 he competed against Jesus Gallardo for the vacant World Championship title of the WBA and won by technical knockout in the 2nd round. The following year he defended this belt with a knockout win in Round 5 against Polly Pasireron and lost to Fulgencio Obelmejias and Baek In-chul . After these two defeats, Park ended his career.
