Park Dranske-Lancken
The Dranske-Lancken Park is located in the northwestern part of the Wittow peninsula on the island of Rügen and belongs to the Lancken district of the Dranske municipality .
The approximately three hectare complex was laid out as a baroque manor park between 1720 and 1730. The park is therefore older than the better-known park in Juliusruh , which was created by Julius von der Lancken in 1795.
The park has an almost rectangular floor plan with a central longitudinal axis, which is bordered by tall linden trees. It is slightly inclined in a position from northwest to southeast, so that the longitudinal axis points perpendicular to the Wieker Bodden . The entire inner area of the park is now overgrown and partly overgrown with bushes. The park is bordered on the long sides by boulder walls, of which the eastern wall has fallen into serious disrepair and the western wall was renovated in 1999 as part of a job creation scheme. Outside the walls are some 300-year-old linden trees and also ash and elm trees . A three-row avenue of lime trees adjoins the western wall.
At its southern end, the central axis widens at right angles and contains a 20 by 28 meter, 1.30 meter deep depression. It is believed that this depression was used as a windbreak for society and also for orange trees. It is bordered with a steep embankment, which consists of split boulders.
In the southeast corner there is a grave site with a large gravestone, ringed by eight linden trees. Approximately in the center of the park, east of the longitudinal axis, is the ruin of the ice house , which was built in 1850 for 250 Taler.
At the northern end of the central axis is the manor house , which is in an extremely desolate condition today: walls, floors and the roof have partially collapsed.
The park with its main avenue and the ruined manor house is included in the list of architectural monuments in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen.
