Park Kyeong-hun (born January 19, 1961 ) is a former South Korean soccer player who last played for FC Yeading . He was most recently a coach at Seongnam FC . During his time in Jeju he led the club to the runner-up.

Career as a player

Adolescence

Park Kyeong-hun attended Cheonggu High School from 1977 to 1980 . In 1980 he began his studies at Hanyang University and was called up to the national team while he was still a student . After completing his apprenticeship, he signed his first contract with the Pohang Steelers .

Football career in South Korea

Park Kyeong-hun played non-stop for the Pohang Steelers for eight years. In its first season, the club could not reach a playoff that would have qualified them for the championship games. In 1985 they missed the championship with two points and had to be content with second place at the end of the season. In 1986 the club was able to reach the championship games and there they won the championship in the final against Lucky Goldstar Hwangso . In the following season, the club was again runner-up. In 1988 the club was able to celebrate the championship again. In 1989 the club was only fourth with him. In 1990 he reached only third place with his club. In the following season they could only be third again. In 1992 the club was able to celebrate the championship with him for the third time. At the end of the year, however, he left the club for England. He completed 124 games for the club and scored four goals. From 1993 to 1994 he played for the club FC Yeading . In his last two years as a player, he played 27 games and scored two goals. At the end of the season he announced the end of his career.

Career in the national team

Park Kyeong-hun was called up to the national team while he was at Hanyang University. In 1988 he was appointed to the U-23 national team, but did not play any games there. With the national team he was able to win the 1986 Asian Games in South Korea with a gold medal. In 1990 he won the bronze medal with the national team. At the end of 1990 he resigned from the national team.

Career as a coach

In 1995 he was introduced to the Jeonnam Dragons as the new assistant coach. He stayed there only until 1996, however. In the same year he was introduced as the coach of the youth team at Cheonggu High School. He stayed there for four years until 2000. In 2000 he went to the Busan ICons and became an assistant coach. He stayed there until 2002, before becoming assistant coach of the South Korean U-23 national team in early 2003 . In 2004 he moved to the U-17 national team and became a coach there. He was employed there until 2007 when he was fired. Three years later he signed a contract with Jeju United as a coach. In 2010 he surprisingly reached the runner-up with Jeju United. In 2014, however, he had to vacate his post. In 2016 he was hired by Seongnam FC as a scout. After the club's relegation, the club announced that they had hired him as a new coach for the 2017 season .
