Park Seh-jik (born September 18, 1933 , † July 27, 2009 ) was a South Korean sports official and politician. As President of the Organizing Committee, he directed the organization of the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul .
Park began his career in the military . In 1956 he graduated from the Military Academy and then studied at the University of Southern California . After graduating, he served in various military units until he became deputy director of the National Security Agency . In 1982 he was released from service as major general. Park Seh-jik was appointed Minister of Government Administration in 1985. That same year, just two months later, under Roh Tae-woo, he became Vice President of the Seoul Olympic Organizing Committee . He succeeded Lee Yonh-ho to the post of Minister of Sport on January 7, 1986 . On March 13, 1986, he finally took over the chairmanship of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games after Roh had taken over the chairmanship of the Democratic Justice Party . He kept this position until the games.
After the end of the Olympic Games, he took on various roles in the South Korean NOK until he was elected President of the Korean Veterans' Association in 2006. From December 27, 1990 to February 19, 1991 he was mayor of Seoul and from 1992 to 2000 a member of the South Korean National Assembly .
Park was married with three children, two sons and a daughter.
